Welcome to the vibrant and ever-growing Pickleball community of Cochran! In the spring of 2023, our journey began with the installation of the first two temporary nets on our courts. Back then, it took countless texts and calls to assemble a group of four players. However, the enthusiasm for Pickleball quickly spread, and we soon outgrew our original two courts, necessitating the addition of two more nets. Today, it’s a common sight to find fellow enthusiasts playing at our courts at any time of day.
The transformation of our local courts is a testament to the dedication and passion of a few committed citizens who initiated the refurbishment of the old tennis courts. Our courts were simply a vision shared by a few; now, they are 13 beautiful, lighted, Pickleball courts. This incredible progress was made possible through the unwavering support of our school system, County leadership, City leadership, and Council. But most importantly, it's the community and the members of the BPA who make this dream a reality. Your continued participation and enthusiasm are what keep us thriving.
Pickleball transcends boundaries of race, gender, and socioeconomic status, bringing people together in remarkable ways. Here in Cochran, we've witnessed teenagers forming bonds with septuagenarians, kids opting to spend quality time outdoors with their parents rather than indoors with video games, and friendships that promise to last a lifetime. We invite everyone to come out and experience the joy of Pickleball firsthand. Whether you're a seasoned player or a curious newcomer, everyone is welcome to join our community.
